Weekend adventures

After several months of cold rainy weekends, the sun and pleasant weather returned this weekend. As always, we tried to make the best of the weather and travelled up the gorge to Bridal Vail falls and then to Mt. Hood for some more sledding.

Here's Mt. Hood near the top. A lot of skiers and snowboarders around. I truely regret never having learned to snow board or ski. It looks pretty fun.

Here's Bridal Vail Falls. This is around the same area of a lot of the other waterfalls, but it's kind of hidden around a corner. It was a pretty easy hike down to the falls.
The family by the falls

Here's a little clip of me going down a pretty steep hill. It was a little rough, but I'm alright. I'm not as young as I used to be. That's Monty chasing me down the hill.

It was a beautiful weekend. I loved being able to go to the Gorge this time of year.

But it was too beautiful though. The traffic coming down the mountain was horrible yesterday as everyone from Portland was leaving at the same time.

You know it's not too late to learn to ski.

Cool. Neat video. If I remember correctly, roller skates/ice skating wasn't your thing. Maybe skis would be different.

Man, I used to love sledding. Are there large areas on the mountain for sledding?

I would say pretty large. A lot of the really good areas you have to pay for. They are usually in the ski areas. But there are a few other areas that we found where anybody can go.

BB, what specific dates are you going to be in KC? So long as I don't still have class, I don't see any reason we can't make the Homer's schedule fit your schedule.

Looks fun. We went sledding with the niece and nephew when we were home at Christmas - I forgot how hard it is to haul by adult behind back up the hill!

I'll probably be able to do May 15. I have an optional test that day, but it is in my easiest class, so I shouldn't need to have to take the test.
